Innovator’s Convergence 2019
As the Year begins for 2019, Lord of Zion Divine School conducted the annual Leadership convergence on 19
th & 20
th of January. The concept of the convergence was based from the popular mobile game which is the Mobile Legend. The theme of this year’s leadership convergence is “Every student is an innovator; every student has big ideas”.
This convergence molds the capabilities of the students through a seminar on the first day and some activities on the 2
nd day. The students were grouped on 12 teams; The Mage A and B, the Marksman A & B, The Support A & B the Assassin A &B and the Tank A & B. On the 1
st day of the activity, there was a seminar which was led by the School Director, Mr. Frederick Q. Tria. His main point on his seminar unfolds the potential of every learner in innovation. On the 2
nd day of the training, it was the start of giving the Zionistas the opportunity to find their own strength and collaborate with their teammates through the game called Amazing Race. The In-School amazing race were composed of seven levels and each group should surpass the per level challenge for them to move to the next. The game was filled with joy and laughter as every team tried and do their best to accomplish every task.
Axl Rose Michael Nebres, a Grade 10 student shook the crown as he was awarded as the most valuable player on the 7
th Annual Leadership Training of the Lord of Zion Divine School last January 25-26, 2019 with the theme “Innovators Convergence (ICON). The training was held inside the campus within two days and one night with the guest speakers who gave an inspiring and educational message.
Axl is known to be as one of the most disobedient students in the campus so his awarding as the Most Valuable Player of the year was unexpected to everyone. During the two days training, he revealed something that is uncommon to everyone. He introduced himself as the leader of their team. All his members were surprised for they were not expecting him to be their team leader. He envied the other team so he motivated himself that if others can do it, so can he.
He was the central attraction of the whole two days leadership training not because he was meddling but because of what he had accomplished. He led his group with discipline and passion. He became the epitome of good deeds to his co members. Yet, he never thought that he will get the name as MVP because he thinks that he does not deserve it.
